Covid-19 Update: Cardon Deemed an Essential Service

To our Cardon Family and Friends,

On March 23, 2020, the Ontario Premier announced the closure of all non-essential businesses. Cardon is deemed an essential company, as such, we are continuing to operate.

Our priority continues to be the health and safety of our employees, customers, partners and their families. We continue to take extreme, appropriate and effective precautions to protect their health. Managing Through the Dynamics of COVID-19

Open letter to all clients from Mardig Sevadjian, President

As a North American company, we’ve been closely monitoring the dynamic situation of COVID-19, along with the rest of the world.

First and foremost, the health and well-being of our partners and customers remains top of mind and our highest priority, and we will continue to act thoughtfully despite the disruption and uncertainty COVID-19 brings to our daily lives.

As North America began experiencing heightened concerns, we’ve already taken a series of precautionary steps in response to this emerging public health impact:

  1. We are taking guidance from the CDC, Public Agency of Canada, and local health authorities, we have increased cleaning and sanitizing at our facilities to help prevent the spread of all germs.
  2. We have restricted all business-related air travel, domestic and international through March 31.
  3. We have modified or postponed large meetings and events in the U.S. and Canada.

We’ll continue to do what is right for our customers and partners, and we are optimistic this will be a temporary situation. Guided by our Mission and Values, we will continue to communicate with transparency to ensure the health and well-being of our partners and customers.

Warm Regards,

Mardig Sevadjian

Cardon’s 5 Easy Steps to Operate your MPT – Manual Physical Therapy Table

Step 1: How to move your physical therapy table
  1. To put your physical therapy table on its casters, simply place your foot on the lever and push the lever down. There is one lever to control all 4 casters located under the leg section of the physical therapy table.
  2. To lower the table off its casters, place your foot under the lever and lift the lever up. Please ensure the treatment table is off its casters prior to treating your patients to avoid injury or damage!

Step 2: How to control the elevation of your physical therapy table
  1. You will notice on the Manual Physical Therapy Table that there are no foot pedals or handheld controls, because our Patented Soft Touch Technology has been strategically mounted right to the base of your treatment table.
  2. The soft touch control is activated by placing a slight amount of pressure directly on the switch.
  3. Up and down controls are located at the front of the table under the head section, and at the back of the table under the leg section. You also have the controls located under the under the side rails of the base.
  4. When at the front of the physical therapy table, the left switch will lower the table, and the right switch will raise the table. This is the same for the switches at the back of the MPT table under the leg section.
  5. On both sides of the physical therapy table, you will find the soft touch switches mounted under the base rail. The switch to the left lowers the treatment table, and the switch to the right raises the treatment table. Simply place your heel on the floor and raise your toes to activate the switch.

Step 3: Adjusting the leg section of the physical therapy table
  1. The leg section of the Manual Physical Therapy Table is controlled by a positive lock bar. To raise the pad simply lift the pad into the desired position. To lower the leg section pad rotate the star knob to release the locking mechanism attached to the locking bar allowing the sliding rods to move through freely. It is very important that you keep your hand under the pad when lowering it to avoid the pad dropping rapidly.

Step 4: Adjusting the head section of the physical therapy table
  1. The head section of the table is controlled by two positive lock bars providing ultimate stability on the head section.
  2. To lower the head section, rotate the star knob to release the locking mechanism attached to the locking bar allowing the sliding rods to move through freely. It is very important that you keep your hand underneath the pad when lowering it to avoid the pad dropping rapidly.
  3. To raise the head section, simply lift it to the desired position.

Step 5: Optional Accessories

Another important consideration when purchasing your MPT, are the many options available to add to your physical therapy table. A few of which include:

  1. The optional Powered Center Section allows for hands-free positioning for spinal mobilization or manipulation, soft tissue mobilization and muscle stretching techniques. An additional set of soft touch switches have been added beside the hi-lo controls to allow you to raise and lower the center section. The left side lowers the center section and the right side raises the center section.
  2. 3-piece head section with adjustable arms
  3. The optional sliding head section allows you to get closer to your patient maintaining a straight spine, proper body mechanics, and avoiding strain on the practitioner. It also allows patient movement for shoulder work.
  4. The battery feature allows your MPT table to be completely cordless providing you with the flexibility to move your table as needed. The control box on a battery-operated table has a digital readout that let’s you know the amount of charge left in the battery, just like you would on your smart phones. When the battery requires re-charging, remove the battery from the control box, and plug it into the charger. Once the battery is fully charged, reconnect the battery to the control box on the physical therapy table.
